Alzheimer’s Patient: July 15, 2012

On July 15, 2012 FTBO remitted a payment to benefit an Alzheimer’s patient.

Payment made by FTBO General Fund.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, “One in Eight Americans has Alzheimer’s Disease.  Alzheimer’s Disease is the Sixth-Leading cause of death in the United States.  Over 15 Million Americans provide unpaid care for a person with Alzheimer’s or other Dementias.  Payments for care are estimated to be $200 Billion in 2012.”

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other intellectual abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 50 to 80 percent of dementia cases.
