Hi everyone,
This week’s Motivational Monday theme is “pay attention”.
Pay Attention
A girl was sitting in the back of a classroom.
She had always sat in the front.
Her head was flat on the desk.
Others sat down and took their seats.
Nobody noticed.
Did she want someone to notice?
Yes and no.
The idea was to hide so that no one could seek her.
But what she really wanted was to be found.
The teacher spoke about this and that.
The girl just stared at her computer, afraid to look up.
She wondered if anyone cared.
Did her classmates care?
Did her teacher care?
I guess not.
She would make other friends.
She would have other teachers.
There would be other chances to be seen and heard.
Class ended.
She was the last to get up.
The girl stood, eyes glued to the floor
As long as she did not look up, no one could see her.
But then
The teacher spoke
And asked, “Are you ok?”
Someone cared. Someone noticed.
“No and yes”, she said.
“I’m not having a great day but thanks for making it ok.”
