Motivational Monday: Things Happen for a Reason

Hi everyone,

This week’s Motivational Monday theme is “things happen for a reason”. I just finished reading a book by Amy Purdy and Michelle Burford called On My Own Two Feet: From Losing My Legs to Learning the Dance of Life. At the end of the book Ms. Purdy writes,

“My path has led me to the perfect place. I truly believe that I’m standing exactly where I should be at this juncture in my life. Every step of my journey, even the most heartrending ones, was meant to happen. Each person I’ve connected with has come into my life for a reason. There are no coincidences. No mistakes. No accidents. There are only learning experiences, and each one can be used as a powerful lesson in moving forward.”

Sometimes it is so difficult to accept yourself and your surroundings. You may live with regrets and fall out of the present moment. You may not agree with everything that Ms. Purdy wrote and that’s totally fine. However, we need to stop beating ourselves up for the past and wondering “What if?”. Instead, build upon what you have and move toward what you want/need.

I was so inspired by this book and I highly suggest reading it.
