West Union, Iowa:
So you ride 93 miles in the rain, thunder and lightning.
You pull into a town with no stop lights.
You are tired, too tired to shave, and just want to shower and have a hot meal.
You make a left out the motel door and down a dirt road to downtown.
All West Union is known for are corn and beans.
24 adult men and women sit down for dinner, and we are given one waitress.
Lo and behold, this young lady handles the group with efficiency, grace, and humor.
The person sitting next to me gives her a great compliment, stating I would be proud if she were my daughter.
I’m always amazed when regardless of the profession, someone over-delivers.
Today was one of those days and this young woman was kind enough to pose for a picture with me.
She is appropriately named Destiny, and I know she is destined for a great future.
Tomorrow I will leave Iowa and sleep in Wisconsin.
The adventure continues!
2 more days ’til rest day 🙂
