Hello everyone,
This week’s Motivational Monday theme is “paint a different picture”.
The Art of Self-Sabotage
She can paint a picture so well that she may not see
It’s constructed so innocently that she flies beneath the surface
Or maybe it’s done with such purpose and vigor
With the artist knowing full well of the mess she’s about to make
It can happen in moments or go on for months
She may barely make a dent in the clay
Or mold a completely different image
It may take on the form of words
Or actions
Or feelings
Or a color wheel of all three
It tends to keep her stuck
And it rewinds the clock
Making her footsteps minor brushstrokes on
A caged in canvas
Once shouted out in a poetry slam
It sounds like squeaky chalk on a chalkboard
Each time the ink seems so permanent
Seeping through the paper
And maybe it is
But there are so many opportunities for
Watercolor, erasers, glue and scissors to
Create an ever-changing work of art.

You hold the brush. Why not tilt it in a different direction?
