The Sun
I reach up to the rays to guide me toward warmth and light
I’m grateful for its beauty, sunrises and sunsets
I’m reminded of the beach and my favorite season, summer
I feel more relaxed and at ease
I embrace the moment and sit still and mindfully
The sun reminds me of my mom and brings me hope, joy and laughter
The sun reminds me that I deserve a vacation and to travel
Sweat feels cathartic and glistens off my skin
My tan comes with increased self-worth and esteem
I’m reaching toward the sun, allowing the rays to hit me one at a time
One step and thought at a time.
