You walk up to someone who’s wearing baggy sweats and an old T-shirt, no make-up and doesn’t make eye contact.
What are some automatic thoughts that you have?
- “Make an effort”
- “I would never wear that in public”
- “So rude” or “so unfriendly”
When really, that person is having a bad day, can’t afford to buy new clothes, has body image issues and/or is really shy.
We spend too much time making quick judgments. We spend too much time gossiping about appearance. And we spend too much time taking things personally.
This quote is so beautiful and I hope it reminds you to focus on things such as: courage, sense of humor and kindness rather than weight, height, and style.
